The singular violin brings us into the song, rising and falling, as Kal Calhoone starts the verse speaking in Spanish. Then the song takes a turn that I never really expect as I listen to it each time. The electric guitar comes in smoothly taking over the melody of the violin and then they both join in after the first chorus. It is a slow burning power that reveals itself in this song, but the distorted guitar that introduces us into each chorus brings us into a darker mind state and then the tension is released for the verses. Beautiful song and one of my personal favorites on the album.
don’t let the word “theologically” scare you, this is so good.
